Eastland Memorial Volunteers

Description

The EMH Volunteers are an integral part of the hospital. They are a group of ladies and gentlemen who donate their time to volunteer for the hospital in a variety of ways. The volunteers may work in the gift shop or in other departments of the hospital, and sometimes they even work in their own homes making things for patients at the hospital or possibly baking for a fundraiser. Some volunteers have other full time jobs and can't be at the hospital during the day, so they donate their time to other fundraising activities throughout the year. EMH Volunteers offer smiles, words of encouragement, and caring attitudes, which are priceless to the success of Eastland Memorial Hospital.

Fundraising Activities

The EMH Volunteers are involved in many fundraising events throughout the calendar year. The largest fundraiser is the Annual Charity Golf Tournament held each year in June, which has been a huge success and has been strongly supported by the community. Other fundraisers throughout the years have been book fairs, jewelry sales, scrub sales, bake sales, Mary Kay sales, and raffles. The volunteers also run the SunShine Shoppe, which is the gift shop located on the lower level of the hospital in the Wellness Center. The SunShine Shoppe offers a variety of gift items, including home décor, seasonal/holiday décor, ceramic décor, jewelry, purses, scarves, crosses, frames, children's gifts, miscellaneous items, and snack and drink items. The SunShine Shoppe also sponsors a "trunk sale" in the fall offering many holiday items.

The EMH Volunteers have made many contributions to the hospital since the group started in 2004. Some of those include the following:
