Eastland Memorial Sleep Studies

Sleep Studies

In a relationship with Alliance Sleep Center, this test is provided on an Outpatient basis. Sleep studies are tests that measure how well you sleep and how your body responds to sleep problems. They allow your doctor to look at sleep patterns and observe how your sleep affects your daily activity. Untreated sleep disorders can increase your risk of heart disease, stroke and hypertension. Sleep studies can help your doctor diagnose restless leg syndrome, seizure disorders, narcolepsy and sleep apnea.

Sleep disorders can be treated. Your sleep study results might include information about sleep and wake times, sleep stages, abnormal breathing, the oxygenation in your blood and any movement during sleep. Talk to your doctor if you snore, don't wake up feeling rested and refreshed, feel sleepy during the day or are told that you stop breathing during your sleep, or are told by your bed partner that your legs or arms jerk often during your sleep.
